The Program

SOLWorld conferences are known for their unique sharing and learning atmosphere. As well as making lasting friendships, you will leave with tools, ideas and leads that you can use the very next week.

The 2.5 days conference program contains a great variety of carefully prepared interactive workshops on hot topics about working with change in organizations.  There will be three plenary sessions providing high level conceptual information about SF with real examples of its use. A cultivated specialty of SOLWorld conferences is an ‘open space’ phase where prepared mini-workshops and spontaneous discussion allow high quality emergent learning.

Travellers’ guide

Travelling

Most people will arrive by air at the Hungarian Airport: Budapest Ferihegy. However, those coming from neighbouring countries may find it worth checking the possibility of taking the train or travelling by car. There are plenty of parking places of the hotel without additional costs.

Arrival on May 18th 2011

If you arrive in Budapest by train or plane, make sure you get there by 4 p.m. so that you can join the welcome reception starting at 7 pm in Balatonfüred, 165 km away from the airport. If you opt for sailing on the Balaton (additional costs), starting at 5 p.m. in Balatonfüred, you should land earlier then 2 p.m. in Budapest.

There will be help to get to Balatonfüred from Budapest city AND from the airport. If you arrive early -  before 2 pm – you might consider taking a taxi (at your expense: ca. EUR 20) to the city and spending some time there. You can join the SOLworld bus at 4 p.m. from the city (arriving to the welcome reception, not for the sailing option).

We will let you know more detailed travel details after your registration and when you have told us your arrival time.

Conference timing

The conference starts with a welcome reception and mingling at 7 p.m. at the main conference venue, Anna Grand Hotel, Balatonfüred.
The conference ends on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by a lunch.  If you are flying home on Saturday, make sure your flight leaves after 5pm.

Weekend

There will be transport back to Budapest city or to the airport after the conference. For those who can spend some more time in Budapest we negotiated a great hotel rate so you can stay till Sunday or to the post conference workshop on Monday. The 5* hotel President is also the venue of the post conference workshop with Ben Furman.

You have the choice of two excellent learning opportunities both for experienced SF practitioners and beginners. In this case a night’s accommodation from May 17th at the main conference venue is included in the fee. We are happy to assist you with travelling to the conference venue in Balatonfüred.

Post conference

If you opt for the workshop with Ben Furman on Monday, May 23rd, we suggest spending the weekend in Budapest. However, the accommodation is not included in the fee.

The conference prices are based on accommodation in double room. During registration process you will have the option to book a single room.
